THE OATH OF PEACE
RECITAL AT VERDUN
EX-SOLDIERS-OF SEVEN NATIONS '
PARIS, July 13.
Tens of thousands of war veterans, including representatives of France, Britain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Russia, and the United States gathered at twilight in the cemetery at Verdun on Sunuay night, stood before the tomb of seven unknown soldiers on which flared a "torch' 6* peace," and solemnly recited the oath of peace. • The men moved among the graves, on which each at a given signal laid a flower, repeating three times "For the peace of the world."
