Te Awamuftt vis reported to have a very interesting lot, of young horses in work for the ne\y, season, the biggest team being the six A. Cook has under his charge. ;-. 5 . Cook's sextet comprises:—Ngatara, a bay. colt by General Latour—Quinkama; Lady Meath, by Soldennis— Black Spangle, owned by Mr. J. Storey, by whom she was imported from Ireland; . a filly by :Captain Bunsby— Prophet's Mark; a: chestnut filly by General Latour—White Bird; a brown colt by Constant Son, bought in Australia by Mr. M. H. Tims; and a colt by Bronze Eagle—March. Of these, the best-looking at present is the Constant Son colt. Although he is not big, he is a beautifully-built and very compact individual who should turn out a good proposition. Lady Meath and the Prophet's -Mark filly look the best of the others. Ngatara has not.been.long in commission, but is .building up. ' He is half-brother to Namakia and will race for Dr. C Blundell. ,
