AUCKLAND CLASSES
Several alterations have been made +?,J ™cl a,sses for tne Auckland Trotting Club's August Meeting, the most noticeable being the deletion of races tor the better-class pacers. This step was considered necessary by the programme committee in view of the Pw+ lt3L of horses in these classes, and i= mi & aY c been set for the Principal races that will give the intermediate C;l onis\ opportunity of graduating to the higher ranks. The August Handicap, of £250 and 4™Ph^n Valued at £5°- has altait of 4rmn 40sec, while the Massey Memorial Handicap, of £200, limit 2min 51sec gives aspirants for the two miles event another .chance at a mile and a quarter, me Onehunga Handicap, of £170 is tor 3min 31sec horses, a class that HPved popular and successful at the Winter Meeting. Other classes are ar^ ranged at 3min 36sec, 3min 40sec, and 3mm ssec.
The success of the races for intermediate trotters at two miles has not been lost sight of, and horses in this class are Riven another opportunity j n the 4min 53sec Royal Oak Handicap, ol i. 175. while the Improving trotters nave n 3min. 49sec class event.
