Ideal conditions prevailed at Judgeford yesterday, enabling players to make up for the previous weekend, arid several competitions were advanced a step further. The first round of the J. W. Martin Cup for senior players resulted as follows:—

E. J. Fahey beat W. Martin, 2 and 1; J. C. Redward beat R. F. McCourtie, 1 up; O. G. Olsen beat G. J. Stevenson, 2 and 1; E Moriarty beat D. W. Barclay, 1 up;-B. M. Stephenson beat J. Charters, 2 up; L. Philp beat H. Elsmore, 2 and 1; W. D. Cooke beat D. Warner. 2 and 1. \ In the Romaiu Cup (two rounds medal-play to qualify), the following sixteen players qualified: W. Whiteford, 3 and 1; D. Warner and E. Selman beat G. Radford and C. Whitcombe, 4 and 3; O. G. Olsen and Bill Blake beat R. McCourtie and 'L. Davis, 3 and 2; G. J. Stevenson and B. Burdett beat P. Couchman and G. Redward, 3 and 2; B. Moriarty and J. Spence won by default from W. Mason and Dl E. Ireland.
