The guests, who were received by Mrs. Mackenzie (wearing a frock of wine marocain) included:—Mesdames A. E. Budd, F. Cooper, j. Cromb, C. M. Banks, E. B. Vance, W. T. Richards, T. Wilson, A. Warden,; p. ■R. Richmond, C. V. Sutherland, H. Hanson, J; Dalgleish, A. Marsden, J. McCarthy, J. Griffiths, W. B. Reilly, G. Castle, J. Lauchlan, G. S: Hill, J. Barclay, M. J. . Quirke, and R. To keep linen white, wash well and blue in very blue water, then put away rough dry. This will bleach it. , To clean real lace, baste it carefully on to muslin, lay it on a table, and, with a fine brush or sponge, cleanse it with soap and water. When clean, roll up in the muslin and rinse well. Squeeze it,.but don't wring. Shake out and, when nearly dry, dron on a wellpadded table (still on.the" muslin).
