ELECTION OF OFFICERS

The annual meeting of the Dickens Fellowship was held in Charming Hall recently, Captain Galloway presiding.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr. E. C. Smythe; immediate past president, Captain Galloway; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. M. H. Chatfield, J.P., My. A. Dickens, and Mr. E. M. Sladden; j executive committee, Mesdames Gower, Shakes, Price, Smythe, Miss Bray, | Miss Morrell, and Messrs. Bush, Coom-, ber, and French; librarian. Miss Geyger; programme committee, . Mrs. Smythe, Miss Morrell, Mr. Sladden. and Mr. Coornber; representative of! sewing circle, Mrs. Wainwright; repre- j sentative of dramatic club, Mrs. Gower; treasurer and publicity secretary, Mr. Gordon Shakes; secretary, Mrs. N. Cruttenden.. A pleasing report was received from the Sewing Circle, their, efforts having provided over 100 garments to urgent and deserving cases in the name of Dickens. The Dramatic Society also reported a very successful year, their activities having been the means of raising funds for charity.
