N.S.C. TOURNAMENT

The following are the results of the bouts held on Saturday night at the Wellington Show Stadium under the auspices of the National Sporting Club:—

L. Denton (6st 21b) beat E. Kidd <6st 51b) on points after a solid exhibition of wrestling. J. Hill (9st 91b) beat A. Bloomfleld (9st 101b) by one fall.

D. Hunter (7st 61b) beat M. Pilcher (7st 131b), Hutt Valley, by a fall in the second round. •

T. Wright Q2st 101b), Wellington,' beat N. Gardiner (12st 111b), Nelson, by a fall in the third round. This bout was the best of the evening,- both boys mixing it freely.

L. Nolan (Bst 101b) beat N. Giftord (9st), incapacitated, by one fall. I. Upchurch (9st 121b) beat J. Bear (9st 91b), incapacitated, after two rounds of lively wrestling. L. Smith (list 21b) beat H. Wright (list) by a fall in the first round.

L..Nolanv(Bst 101b) beat C. Price (lOst 41b) by two falls. Nolan was giving away a stone and a half in weight. T. Wright (12st 101b) beat J. Fowler (12st 121b), Westport. Fowler opened the bout sensationally, pinning Wright for a fall within 10 seconds of the commencement Wright then pinned Fowler after one minute of the second round. Wright took the deciding fall in the third round. ■■ • .

Mr. Anton Koolman gave an instructive demonstration of holds taught by him to amateurs. ■ ; . •

R. Sutherland (list 61b) beat S. Scott (■list 61b) on points. K. Pajo (12st 91b) beat P. Greenlees (13st 41b), New Plymouth, by a fall in the second round.

The referees were Messrs. T. Bydder and S. Lack.
