A special programme was prepared for the last reunion of the Cercle Francais.. in honour of the Fete Nationals(July 14), and there was an unusually large attendance. Madame Bendall, 0.A., received. The president Mr. VK F. C. Balham, officially welcomed the guests, among whom were Cay. Dolt. Mario Dessaules (Consul for Italy) and Signora Dessaules. and Mr.:G. A. An operatic dance by three little girls in pink (Phyllis Spierling, Ngaire Hare, and Audrey Mills), pupils of : Miss Nancy Rabfi, was a popular item. Misses Lalla Vondersloot and Nora Gray contributed items for two pianos —"Valsp Viennoise" (Parrish) -and "Rhacsodie. espagnole" (Chebrier)'; as an encore they gave "Croon" .(Harris). This .was prefaced by. a few words from Dr. A. C. Keys, who remarked that everybody is used to the word "croon" in connection with radio, but this was not quite the same sort. This was rather a lullaby, but-with an element of negro jazz, and in parts there were several different rhythms.,, which might not be pleasing to all.- "Croon" proved an interesting novelty number. A very amusing one-act, play by d'Hervilliez. "A lover', meuble," was presented with great success' by Madame E. Finlayson, the parts being taken by Professor Boyd-Wilson, 0.A., P.rofessor Miles, Dr. Keys, Mr. H. Baker, and Madame Finlayson.'
