Though there Was a heavy frosty at New Plymouth on Saturday morning the tracks were in good order for thetraining operations, when most of the horses engaged at Wanganui were worked. He has come through his recent racing in good style. . \ Meritor hit out in his usual bold fashion oyer six furlongs, the last five occupying lmin ssec. He was jumped in the late autumn but is to be given mother chance on the flat at Wanganui. Silk Sox and Sporting Song gave a splendid exhibition over six hurdles, iaking every fence figuratively in their stride. Davistock and Calshot appeared to 3e going a .little better than Glenvane )t the : conclusion of six furlongs in lmin 20sec. They ran the first halfnile in 52$ sec and the last five furongs in lmin 6 l-ssec. They were all ;oing comfortably at the finish. Script surprised by beating Tomoana >ver five furlongs in the smart time >f lmin 3sec. They had the pace on rom the start, running the first two urlongs in 24sec and the three in 36sec. Icript has evidently improved as a reult of his recent racing, as this was asily his best effort to date. Carleaf ran home from' the three urlongs in 40 l-ssec but was not mstled. High Test was let off with a easy task. Glenvane was schooled over four lurdles, giving a finished display of umping. Fersen and Brilliancy bowled over hree furlongs at an easy three-quar-er pace, both horses hitting out freely.
