ARCHBISHOP'S VISIT
GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH
Archbishop Timotheos Evangelinides, head of the Greek Orthodox Church in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania, who is now visiting Wellington, was cordially welcomed by Greek residents of Wellington City and adjacent districts at a meeting held in the PanHellenic Association's rooms last evening.
Mr. Frank Dyer, Consul for Greece, presided, and expressed the pleasure felt by Greek citizens at the Archbishop's visit. He recalled that his Grace had come to New Zealand some three years ago, and on that occasion was heartily welcomed by the Greek residents.
His Grace gave an interesting address and thanked those present for their kindly reception.
Archbishop Timotheos Evangelinides held a service in St. Peter's Church yesterday, and christened a number of Greek children according to the rites of the Greek Orthodox Church. He left today for Palmerston North.
