ANNUAL COMPETITION (Special to the "Evening Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. The annual shooting contest conducted by the New Zealand Farmers' Union resulted this year in a win for the-Hampden team, with Wairarapa A second. The scores of the six leading teams, together with the highest scorers for the respective teams,' were:— Hampden, 479 points (E. Nicholson 99); Waiararapa A, 434 (W. Kummer 99); North Taranaki-Okato, 431 (S. Roebuck 91); Wairarapa B, 408 (J. H. McDonald 88); North Taranaki-Toko, 402 (W. Barker 89); Wairarapa C, 391 (L. Sigversen 90). E Nicholson (Hampden) secured the possible at 600 yards. W. Kummer (Wairarapa) was the highest scorer outside the winning team. The Hampden team fired in bright weather with a slight breeze, and Wairarapa A in fine weather with a cross wind. The weather for all the other teams seems to have been fairly adverse, and this \ probably accounts for the difference; ' in the scores.
