APPEAL TO AUSTRALIA
RECONSIDERATION OF DUTIES CHAMBERS' RESOLUTION (Received June 3, 9.40 a.m.) TOKIO, June 2. It is understood that the Government is finally appealing to Australia to reconsider her tariff increases. It is reported that Manchukuo has signified her willingness for united action against- Australian wheat.
Eight provincial chambers of commerce at a meeting at Osaka passed a resolution regarding Australia's action as a declaration of trade war, and are urging the Government to retaliate decisively, and also to establish a basic trade policy, especially in regard to the supply of raw materials.
