RED CROSS REVUE
In the Town Hall Concert cnarrmer last night an appreciative audience saw the revue "Snippets," prese> for the first time by the Voluntai# ..id Detachment of the Wellington Centre, New Zealand Red Cross Society. In spite of handicaps imposed by . the limited nature of the resources available, the nurses staged an exceedingly creditable entertainment in which colour and melody were blended to an almost professional degree. With frequent changes of costuming, a number of popular songs, recitations in character, and ballets were given by Misses M. Patterson, E. Armstrong, A. Nicholl, E. Bryenton, Z. Hale, M. Empson, A. Cordery, N. Gorton, P. Orr, L. Atkinson, J. Adams, M. Wiffin, D. Cooper, T. Jewiss, Z. Philpott, Messrs. R. Hampton Bennett and Donald Ross, Miss E. Stowers, and Messrs. W. Butland and W. Scoble provided the accompanying music. In a short address to the audience, Mr. M. S. Galloway explained that the entertainment had been presented to raise funds to send a Red Cross nursing team to take part in the competi-' tion for the Dr. Collins Cup at Napier in August, and he thanked all those who had helped the effort. "Snippets" will be presented again tonight.
