MASTERTON RATES INCREASED
(Special to the "Evening Post.") MASTERTON, This Day. The general rate in the borough of Masterton for the current year has been increased from 3d to 4d in the £ on the unimproved value, This decision was reached at a special meeting of the council held last night to consider the estimates. The hospital and charitable rate was increased from 2 ; ? dto 3 l-8d in the £ on the annual value, but the street lighting rate was decreased id in the £ on the annual value.
E Johnston and Co., auctioneers, will cell unclaimed cargo at their mart (basement). 8 Willeston Street, tomorrow morning at 10.30. They will also sell shop fittings, etc., on the premises. Hallcnstcin's Buildings, tomorrow at 1.30 p,m.
