DISAPPOINTING FOOTBALL Although conditions at Wakefield Parle were not ideal for spectacular football, the exhibition given by Technical Old Boys and Island Bay was a disappointing one. . The teams wore:— Technical Old Boys.—Redmond; Fullen, Parker; N. Gates, Beaddle, A. Gates; Stewart, Friend, Liddicoat, Torrington, Prosser. Island Bay.—McLean; Salisbury, Hicks; Harvey, Long, Todd; Wrigley, Mclver, Cook, Osborne, Webb. Island Bay had the wind and rain behind them in the first half. The first scord came from a scramble when Mclver pushed the ball in for Island Bay. During the remainder of the spell Technical Old Boys missed two easy goals and at half-time the score was: Island Bay 1, Technical Old Boys On changing over Technical rushed play into fcland Bay territory, where it remained practically the whole second spell. Technical's first score came when Friend gave a good centre to Beaddle, who equalised. Island Bay 1. Technical 1. The next goal came when Stewart passed a beautiful centra to Liddicoat, who made no mistake. Technical 2, Island Bay 1. Stewart from a corner kick, swerved the ball into the net for the last goal. When time was called Technical were still hammering away at Island Bay's goal with the score: .Technical Old Boys 3, Island Bay 1. Mr. H. Smith was the reteree.
