MORNINGTON CLUB
The first round of the Brett Cup, in whicli the best two rounds out of four count, was played in conjunction with the first round of the Stratmore Cup, which is the best eight to qualify over 72 holes, during the weekend at Mornington. As these events were played later this year, there was none of the usual phenomenal scores. The best cards returned were: W. Knudsen, 75 11—64; M. Da Wooif, 86, 22—64; W' Wheeler, 79, 14—65; T. MacKenzie, 75, 7-68; E A. Raven, 92 24—68; U. P. Calcmai, 86, 18—68; W. Taylor, 82, 13—69; A. Charles, 83, 14— 69; H. B. Craighead, 86, 17—69. In the play-off for the L. J. Evans Trophy M. De Woolf was an easy winner with 34 points. The results in the fourball best-ball Stableford were as follows:—The winners were A. Charles and W. H. Kelly, 32 9 —41 points, runners-up, R. bmith and S.
