OIL DRUM BURSTS
•WARNING TO MOTORISTS To prevent skidding, motorists using Boulcott Street are warned to exercise care when negotiating the corner near Plimmer's Steps. A large drum of oil fell ofE a lorry this morning and burst, and oil spread over a considerable area o£ the roadway. A large quantity of the oil found its way to the gutter, where some of it was mopped up by the driver o£ the lorry. Sawdust and sand scattered over the oily patch has helped to minimise danger.
