OTAGO'S GAIN
The presence in Dunedin of two of the.most outstanding Association football players in the Dominion, T. Farnan and A. Sutherland, - should
greatly add to • the prestige of the Otago representative side this season, whilst at the same time local players should derive much benefit in closely watching their style of play, says the "Otago Daily Times." Farnan is playing with, the Mosgiel team, and it is more than likely that Sutherland will be seen out under Maori Hill's colours. Following are personal details:— Thomas Farnan (inside-left): Born in Ireland, 22 years of age, weight 12st 71b. Learned his football in "Dublin. Played in Irish junior, teams and later appeared in the senior ranks with "Dolphins" Club in the Free : Stale League. Came to New Zealand in 1933, and played for the Ponsonby Club, of Auckland, and represented that province in all English Trophy and representative games in seasons 1934-35. . Alex Sutherland Icentre-half): Born in Inverness, Scotland, age T6, weight 12st 21b. Learned his football in Inverness, arriving in New Zealand in 1926. • Has played continuously for Thistle Club, Christchurch, and has been prominent as a regular member of the Canterbury representative team for several seasons.
