R. AITKEN'S NEXT BOUT
Articles have been signed for a match between R. Coughlan (Palmerston North) and Ralph Aitken (Wellington) to take place at the Town Hall, Pat'ea, o» May 25 on conditions and 'terms which reflect the former's distinct welcome into the professional'ranks "Toy good authorities of the game (states an exchange). Coughlan was-origin-ally matched with "Jock" Wilson -"at Patea for the above date, but as he scales only 9st 51b, Wilson was rei quested to make 9st- 91b, which he-re* fused, the limit then being increased to 9st 121b, with WHson'again refusing, and Aitken was substituted in his place. Coughlan was the Manawatu amateur lightweight champion for 1935-35, winning his title in a particularly hard division at last season's district "championship; his amateur record consists of 55 fights, including 35 wins," "18 losses, 2 draws, and one ' exhibition bout, and he has met the best amateur talent in the Dominion.
