HIDES AND SKINS SALE
A rather smaller offering of sheepfkins than usual was submitted at the fortnightly sale of hides and skins held by Wellington woolbrokers- yesterday. Dry skins were again a shade easier, but salteds showed little change. The demand for hides was less keen, and prices generally were somewhat lower compared with the last sale. Light and medium cow were id a lb lower, with heavies Jd do%yn, while light ox were id easier, and medium and heavy weights 3-8 dto Jd down. Tallow was firm. . . The range of prices is as follows:— Dry Sheepskins.—Halfbred, 7d to 10£ d a lb; fine .crossbred, 9d to 10£ d; medium B£d to 93d,. coarse, 8d to ?d; half wools, 7.? dto 9Jd; quarter wools, 6£d to 9d; pelts, 6d to Bd. Salted Skins.—Quarter wools, 4s 6d each; half wools, 6s 3d; three-quarter wools, 6s 9d; lambs, 3s Id. Hides—Ox, 331b to 441b 4£d to 5 3-8 d a lb, 451b to 521b 53d to 7 3-Bd, 531b to 591b 7 3-8 dto BJd, 601b to 691b 7d to 8 3-Bd, 701b and over 7Jd to BJd; cow, 331b to 391b 3Jd to 5Jd, 401b "to 481b 4Jd to 5Jd, 491b and over 4 l-8d to 6 3-8 d; kip, 251b to 321b 3£d to 7 3-Bd, 171b to 241b 7 5-8 dto 9 3-8 d; yearling, 111b to 161b 8d to lOd; calf, 91b to 101b lOd, 6lb to 81b 9id to 13 5-Bd, lib to 51b 5d to 13id.
