LONDON MEAT PRICES
Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the- following cable from their London agents, dated May 1. giving North Island frozen meat quotations as follows:—Down lambs, 28-361b, 7£d per lb, 36-42 6 7-8 d; crossbred lambs, 28-36 7 3-Bd, 36-42 63d; second quality lambs, average 30-31, 7Jd; wethers,'under 48, 5Jd, 48-56 sd, 56-54 4£d, 64-72 4d; ewes, under 48 4 5-Bd, 48-56 4Jd, 56-64 3 7-Bd, 64-72 3Jd; New Zealand prime, ox beef, 160-220, 3£d. Compared with- last week's quotations, lamb is *\-&d per lb lower. Wethers under 481b and ewes 64-721b l-8d per lb lower. Others unchanged. The demand for lamb and wether mutton is poor, and the market weaker. For prime ewes the market continuel firm.
