FIRM MARKET
DAIRY PRODUCE IN LONDON
The market for New Zealand butter in London at the end of last week was firm, according to the weekly' cable received by the Dairy .Board, wholesale quotations showing little change from the previous week. The- cheese market was also firm. : Wholesale quotations for butter are: —New Zealand and Australian, salted and unsalted, 87s to 88s a cwt (which equals approximately 10.17 d-a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 87s to 89s for New Zealand unsalted the previous week and 78s to 79s a year ago; Danish,, spot, 100s to 101s. The Imperial Economic Committee's estimated stocks of all butters in store amount to 399,503 boxes, compared with 556,453 boxes at the corresponding period last year. Wholesale quotations for cheese are: —New Zealand, white, 55s .to 55s 6d a cwt (which equals approximately 6.06 d a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 54s to 55s last week and 43s to 44s a year ago; coloured, 54s to 555; Australian, 52s to 535; Canadian, 62s'to 665; finest English farmers', 80s to 86s; English factory cheese, 49s to 545. MINIMUM F. 0.8. PRICES. The Dairy Board has fixed the minimum f.o.b. prices until further notice at lid a lb for butter (equivalent to 89s Id a cwt, c.i.f.e.) and 5Jd (49s 7d> for cheese.
