EASTER CONFERENCE
DOMINION Y.W.C.A.
The Hotel "Mahara" at Waikanae is housing a conference of senior members of the Y.W.C:A. of New Zealand. Delegates are attending from Auckland, New Plymouth, Hamilton, Palmerston, Wellington, Christchurch, Timaru, and Dunedin. The conference opened on Thursday evening, and will close on Monday evening.
The Y.W.C.A. as an International Christian Youth movement has a unique history, and the study of its aims and progress in relation to present-day conditions will be the underlying theme of the conference. A group study hour is being taken each morning, the leaders being Misses L. Bridgman (Wellington), A. McCrea (Wellington), and P. Hindle (Palmerston). Technical hour discussions are a feature of each day, with special councils for organised groups such as round table clubs, business girls lyceum, mothers' and junior women's clubs, sports groups, etc., and two special talks will be given by the Rev. O E Burton on the "Christian Community" and "Life of our Time." The leader of the conference is Miss Jean Stevenson, national secretary, and the conference hostess is Mrs. Ffrtch.
Mint is one of the oldest herbs used in cooking; it is mentioned at least twice in the New Testament, both by St. Matthew and St. Luke.
