DECISION
(Received April 9, 11.40 a.m.)
LONDON, April 8.
Mr. R. G. Menzies and Mr. H. E. Manning, Australian and New South Wales Attorneys-General respectively, callad at the Dominions Office and consulted Sir Grattan Bushe, the legal adviser, in reference to the question of extradition from New Zealand to New South Wales. . Mr. Manning describes the interview as satisfactory. Preliminary questions were agreed upon, and there is now hope that the Privy Council will deal with the matter in the near future.
The consultation arises out of the hearing at Sydney of a charge against John Ellis Findlay, a former detective, aged 40, of having conspired to pervert the course of justice by aiding a prisoner, William Campbell, to abscond from bail and escape to New Zealand.
