AIR TRAVEL IN FAVOUR
Use of aeroplanes in reaching race meetings in England is becoming quite common. The Jockey Club had a landing ground marked off on Newmarket Heath in 1934 for the use of visitors on racing days, but on the first day the only aeroplane tp land there was that of Sir Willoughby de Broke. Greater use of the landing ground has been made since then, and towards the end of last season a regular air line was instituted to the course on race The "Sporting Chronicle" says that Doncaster is another racecourse to which special services are run, and Gatwick will probably come into the list this year. Several trainers who have horses engaged at two courses the same afternoon are expected to make free use of aeroplanes this season. Among jockeys. S. Donoghuc is noted for his liking lot! ■aerop.laue irayeL ..
