ELEVEN PERSONS KILLED

NEW YORK, April 7.

Eleven persons were tilled today when a transcontinental airliner, after leaving Newark airport, crashed near Uniontown (Pennsylvania): Bad weather, which caused ice formation on the wings, and radio trouble, are be-, lieved to have been responsible for the crash.

A check of the casualties revealed that the wife of the Mayor of Newark, Mrs. Ellenstein, was one of the two survivors, although she was seriously injured. •
