ST. JOSEPH'S CLUB

The second annual meeting of the St. Joseph's Ladies' Hockey Club, held recently in the Assembly Hall, Brougham Street, was presided over by the Rev. Father Fletcher. Despite the inclement weather there was a full attendance of members and several intending members.

' The first annual report, which was unanimously adopted, stated that although the club did not win many matches the team was always considered to be dangerous in its grade. The objects of the club were kept well in mind by members and enthusiasm was keen to the close of the season. At the end of the season a trip was made to Otaki to play against the Rahui Ladies' Hockey Club, and was enjoyed by members. The report congratulated Miss A. Ferric on gaining representative honours against Wairarapa. Thanks to vice-presidents of the club for financial assistance, also to the various supporters, the basketball club for its friendly interest, Mr. L. M. Murphy, who instigated the Otaki trip, and Mr. W. Dougall, the club's coach, were contained in the report.

The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows: — Patron, Dr. A. Mcßae; president, the i Rev. Father Fletcher; vice-presidents, the Rev. Dr. Gilhooly, the Rev. Father Heavey, Mrs. J. J. L. Bourke, Mrs. Munns, Miss Mary Warren, Miss M. Peters (re-elected), Mr. L. M. Murphy, Mr. W. Crocker, Mr. G. Munns, Mr. W. Dougall; club captain and secretary, Miss M. M. Baillie (re-elected); treasurer, Miss E. Munns; delegates W.L.H.A., secretary and treasurer; hon. auditor, Mr. W. Crocker; coach. Mr. W. Dougall; committee, Misses A. Brookie, A. Ferric, M. Peters, F. Cunningham, and G. Atley. A letter was read from Mr. Murphy with regard to the proposed visit from the Rahui (Otaki) team, and it was decided to invite the Rahui team to Wellington on Saturday, April 18, providing permission is obtained from the Wellington Association. Arrangements for the entertaining of the team were left to the committee.
