AUDACIOUS THEFT
MONEY FROM DAIRY

MASTERTON, This Eay. A dairy, owned by Mr. W. Gilliland, and situated at the front of his residence in Pine Street, was broken into on Saturday night and the sum of £1 12s 6d in cash stolen. The thief or thieves gained entry to the building by smashing a small side window, a quantity of the broken glass from which fel linto a large can of milk, which had to be thrown' away. The theft was discovered about midnight when Mr. and Mrs. Gilliland,. who had spent the evening out, returned home. It was a rather audacious theft, as the window that was smashed was only a few feet away from the Pine Street footpath and in full view of passers-by.
