"His:Honour,said that evidence of the quantum of damage was not" called before him. Counsel informed him at^the 'outset that they had agreed-ito'call evidence only as to the:question of liability, and that, if the defendant company were.held.liable, the question; of quantum "of'damages would- be tried later if 'the : parties ...were unable to agree on the amount. He simply declared, therefore, that the plaintiff company wa entitled to. recoyer damages, the amount of such damages to be assessed later, if necessary, on evidence to be called, by the parties.
