LINCOLNSHIRE WINNER

Over Coat; winner of the Lincolnshire Handicap last week, was bred in Ireland, his dam being a. half-sister to the dam of Kircubbin, .winner of the Irish St. Leger and sire of the One Thousand Guineas winner Mesa.

Over Coat raced six times as a tw,o-year-old for two wins, two seconds, and a third, all in Ireland. As a three-year-old he started four times for one second, in an unimportant race at Edinburgh. Last season he was" comparatively heavily raced, stai-ting on. thirteen occasions,, all in ' : important handicaps. He won the Yoltigeur Handicap Plate, six furlongs,. at York, and the Newmarket Beaufort Stakes, seven furlongs. He was second to Greenore in the Stewards' Handicap at Nottingham, second to Commander 111 in the Stewards' Handicap at Stockton, and also second in the Doncaster Town Moor Handicap, the winner on this occasion being Snooker. Over Coat started in last year's Lincolnshire, and was well fancied with 7.3, but just missed third.

Apron, the sire of Over Coat, is by the great Son-in-law from Aprillß, by Chaucer, and he was a winner of the Great Yorkshire Handicap.
