The xloss and Cromarty by-elec-tion resulted in the return of the | Dominions Secretary, Mr. Malcolm MacDonald. Voting was as .follows: — Mr. Malcolm MacDonald (Nat. Govt.) 8949 Mr. H. McNeill (Lab.) 5967 Mr. Randolph Churchill (Con.) 2427 Dr. W. S. Russell Thomas (Lib.) 738 The by-election was necessitated by the resignation of Sir lan Macpherson (now Lord Strathcarron), the former Liberal National member, on account of ill health. Mr. Malcolm MacDonald lost his seat at the recent General Election. Sir lan Macpherson was returned unopposed in 1931, having held the seat since 1911.
