LOCAL AND OVERSEAS RADIO SINGERS
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—lt must be gratifying to local singers and teachers to notice the public interest that has been recently awakened in connection with the "antilocal talent" policy of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board. It is to be hoped that at the beginning of this New Year the board will make a twofold "resolution": — 1 To engage more Wellington singers'for 2YA instead of spending large sums on "touring" overseas singers. 2 To appoint an expert musician to sift the wheat from the chaff when choosing songs and singers for studio presentation.—l am, etc., SINGING TEACHER.
