Herriot and five of his Radical colleagues from the Cabinet, refused th« invitation of the President, M.. Lebrun, to form a new Cabinet, declaring" that he had never sought office but had accepted it as a duty to his country.
M. Bouisson, President of the Chamber of Deputies, also declined.
M. Lebrun will continue consultations jvith other political leaders today. M. Bonnet, one of the retiring Radical Ministers, is mentioned as Premier, but it is widely believed that all attempts to form ajparty Government will fail, and thai K/Lebriin will eventually b»-compelled to call in M. Laval 'afain. M. Laval's was the tenth Government to fall since the elections in May, 1932.
