AMERICAN COUPLE'S TRIP

AUCKLAND, This Day.
American, newspaper reports that they were fleeing to Australia because of a fear of gangsters were denied by Mr.' and Mrs. Kenneth Wakefleld, who are going to, Sydney by the Monterey.
•Proprietors of a roadside inn near Boston, they told how inn was held up' by'five gangsters, who got janly 300 dollars,, the Wakefields having banked 8000 dollars. Three of the five men were masked. Mrs. Wakefield, afjp.r examining thousands of portraits in the "rogues' gallery," identified the Other ,two, but no prosecution was made, no identifiable article having been recovered.
Mr. and Mrs. Wakefield are going for a month's holiday in Australia.
