EXTENSIVE DAMAGE
FIRE IN CORDIAL FACTORY
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day.
Fire in the cordial factory of: the Citrus Products Company, Ltd., Ewington Avenue, Mt. Eden, at 11 o'clock last night, destroyed £2000 worth of uninsured stock and extensively damaged the building. The building was originally used as a chapel at the New Zealand Institute for the Blind in Parnell.
The fire started downstairs in the office and had a good hold when two brigades arrived. Fortunately there was no wind, and the firemen were able to prevent the fire from spread-, ing to a boarding-house next door and a cabinetmaking factory on the other side. The flames were subdued in just under an hour.
