(By Telegraph—Press Association.')
HAMILTON, January 15,
Speaking at the official., opening of the Dominion Conference ,of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union today, the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon.. W. Lee Martin, said the work of the division called for the highest commendation, particularly during the last -few years when the country had faced many difficult problems. The division had done much good for the less fortunate classes'of the community.
The Minister stated that the real reason for the crisis might be found in three words: Mammon versus God. The Government asked for co-opera-tion and assistance of the womenfolk of the community in carrying out its plans. : Mr. Lee Martin added that the policy of guaranteed prices was no catch-cry. It would serve to remove much drudgery from the farmer's life.
