STAY IN WELLINGTON
RECEPTION TODAY
The team of New South Wales bowlers that has been taking part in the pairs and rinks at the Dominion bowling tournament at Christcburch returned to Wellington this morning, with the. exception of Messrs. S. Morris and R. R. Law, who are engaged in the post-section' play of- the pairs. " The bowlers had.no engagements this morning and. scattered to view the city. This afternoon they were welcomed by the Deputy Mayor (Mr. W. H. Bennett) and the president' of the Wellington Bowling Centre (Mr. W. Gilbert) at the Hataitai. Club's green, and later played a match against the Wellington Centre. '. , Although there was a fair amount of rain while the visitors Vere in Christchurch, they found; the greens there in excellent condition and state that the New Zealand greens are faster than their own during dry weather They all enjoyed the play in the tournament and are looking forward to their tour of the North Island.
The members of the team will be entertained this evening by the Hataitai Club. Five of the players are accompanied by their wives, who will be the guests of Mrs. Gilbert at afternoon tea and will make up a theatre party tonight. Tomorrow morning at 11 team will be received by the Prime Minister, (the Hon. M. J. Savage) at Parliament Buildings. In the afternoon they will play against selected teams on the Wellington Club's greens. On Saturday they will go for a motor tour through Paekakariki and Waikanae, returning during the afternoon through Akatarawa and Lower Hutt. They will be the guests of the Hutt Bowling Club at afternoon tea. In the evening the players will attend a smoke concert at the Wellington Club s. pavilion. The visitors will leave for Palmerston North on Sunday morning.
