'The Bank of England note circula- ■' tion has reached a high record, easily surpassing the previous peak of £(412,000,000 of the" summer holidays. It should be even higher next week, thus indicating a most- prosperous ' Christmas for shopkeepers and others catering for .the. holiday trade. The Bank of England has established * yet another record, its gold. holdings having 'now advanced beyond the £200,000,000 sterling mark.
