REID AGAIN TO TRAIN
'The former Trentham trainer S. J. Reid, who for some time past has been licensee of a city hotel,.has decided to resume his old vocation in the near future. He will hand in the hotel licence at the end of this week, and after a short holiday at Hastings he will set up as a public trainer at Trentham. ' ■ •: , • Reid was one iof-the leading riders of his day, and after turning to training he was appointed private trainer to the late Mr. V. Riddiford, for. whom ■he trained the . winners of nearly '£60,000. Among the best horses he bad- through ■ his -hands .were Grand Knight, Historic, Statuette, Warplane, 'arid Parisian Diamond. He was particularly .successful with. two-year-olds.
