NEW CLERK OF COURSE
Regular patrons at the Waipa Racing Club's Meeting at Te Awamutu last Saturday noticed that the club had a new clerk of the course, Mr. R. J. Weal. Mr. Weal, formerly a prominent amateur' rider, was filling the post in succession to Mr. 'J. R. Pollard, who had occupied the position ever since the -inception of the ; club over 20 years ago. Mr. Pollard has riot. enjoyed the best of health for some time and asked to be relieved. It is worthy of note that Mr. Pollard's father was for very many years clerk of the course for the old Te Awamutu Racing Club, the family association with the office of clerk of the course extending' over fully half a century. Mr. Weal also comes of a sporting family, very long associated with racing in the Te Awamutu district. •
