WESTERN SUBURBS
SHOETEE TEAM EOUTE
GOVERNMENT ATTITUDE
Although no application has yet been made to the new Government by the Wellington "City Council for permission to lay tram tracks through Bowen, Museum,-and Sydney Streets, thus providing a shorter tram route to the western suburbs, it is understood that should such an application be made it will be favourably considered. For some time past, the City Council has sought permission for its trams to operate on such a route, but the Government of the day has consistently refused, on the ground that the noise of the trams would interfere with the work of Parliament.
