STRICKLAND DEFEATS
EGYPTIAN
LONDON, December 10.
In a 12-round boxing contest at Nottingham, Maurice Strickland defeated Salahad Din, the Egyptian heavyweight champion, who retired in the fourth round. The New Zealander heavily punished Din, who, after the first round* repeatedly appealed to his manager and the referee to stop the fight.
The .manager says Din was suffering from a; cold and did not want to fight.
