OBITUARY
MR. W. M. NEUMEGEN
Mr. Walter Martin Neumegen, of Carlton Gore Road, Auckland, who died on Sunday, aged 70 years, was a well-known member of the legal profession. He was the eldest son of the late Mr. L. H. Neumegen, a pioneer citizen of Auckland, whose . widely charitable will is still remembered. After serving his articles with the late Mr. Thomas Cotter, K.C., he was admitted a barrister and solicitor in 1889 and carried on practice for many years with his brother, Mr. Ernest E. Neumegen, under the name of Neumegen and Neumegen. For a long period Mr. Neumegen was actively associated with the Auckland Hebrew congregation, having been honorary solicitor to the congregation for . over %40 years and secretary for 19 years. Throughout his life he was a prominent member of friendly societies in the city, giving signal service to Oddfellows, Foresters, and Freemasonry. Mr. Neumegen was a man of genial and kindly personality and noted for his charitable acts. He is survived by his wife and son.
