THE USEFUL LEMON
When towels become dingy place them in a bowl of cold water with soap and lemon juice. Heat gradually to boiling point, rinse in luke-warm water, and blue as usual, advises an exchange.
The juice of a lemon added to a tub of cold water helps to soften hard water.
Laces, fine lingerie, and embroidery which have become yellowed may be made snowy white by boiling in water to which a little blue and the juice of a lemon have been added.
The marks on paint made by the striking of matches may be removed by rubbing with a cut lemon.
Steel is to be used to construct a new church at Cranford, Middlesex, which also will be fitted with tip-up seats. Loud-speakex-s, which will invite passers-by to come in to the services, will replace (he more usual bells.
