SERVICES TO ART
RETIRING MINISTERS
At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum, held yesterday, opportunity was taken to express the appreciation of members of the services rendered to the board by the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and the Minister of Internal Affairs (Sir Alexander Young) in their capacity as chairman and deputy-chairman respectively.
In replying, Mr. Forbes thanked the members' for the assistance they had given to him, and said he was very gratified indeed that owine to the enthusiasm displayed by those who had inaugurated • the scheme, particularly such men as Mr. Troup and Sir Harold Beauchamp, it had been possible to commence the erection of the fine building which will house the national collection of pictures and museum exhibits. The building was now nearing completion, and he was glad that he had been associated with the scheme during his term of office as Prime Minister. . : >'. . . '
Sir Alexander Young also expressed his pleasure at haying been associated with the work of the board, and said he would continue to take a very, keen interest in the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum.
