AUCKLAND, December 3. After careful consideration of applications for the position of town clerk, the Mount Eden Borough Council decided to make no appointment but to advertise again, increasing the flaw °ffered by £100, making it £ 600.
A special meeting of the council was held to consider an appointment, the discussion being taken in committee Over 50 applications had been received for the position, but "only two Aucklanders had made application."
