DIVORCE PETITIONS

LONG LIST OF CASES

;_ Today was divorce day in the Supreme Court. A long list of undefended petitions was set down for hearing, and in ' addition there were motions asking the Court to' make previous decrees nisi absolute;' as well as-several applications for decrees for restitution of conjugal rights. As on all such days, there was a strong representation of the .legal profession to pilot petitioners through the formalities of the proceedings, some twenty counsel being present when the Court sat. ( The cases were taken by Mr. Justice Smith,, who, when the luncheon adjournment was taken, had untied thirteen marriage. knots, granted three decrees for restitution .of conjugal rights, and dealt with motions to make decrees nisi absolute. The remainder of .the cases are to be taken this afternoon. ■ ,

Michael James Cunningham, separation; Winifred, Margaret Harris (Mr. H. Biss) v. Charles Richard Harris, separation; Annette Bailey (Mr. Lan Macarthur) v. Athol Edward Bailey, separation; Dionisios Callinicos I (Mr. Rogers) v. Beatrice Alice Callinicos, adultery; Monaca Alice Leary (Mr. Corry) v. Charles Leary, separation; Maud Elsie Cummins (Mr. W. P. Shorland) v. Sydney Harold Cummins, separation; Irene May Little (Mr. J. D.. Willis) v. George William Little, separation; Jacob, Andersen Bak (Mr. ■J. D. Willis) v. Gladys Bak, adultery; Neville Douglas :> Braithwaite (Mr. R H. Webb) v. Harriet Braithwaite, separation.

Decrees for restitution of conjugal rights were granted to Spencer Leslie Izett (Mr. G. A. Wylie) against Norah Joan Izett; Herbert Walter Bedell (Mr. J. Stewart) against Ida May Bedell; and Lionel George McGiir (Mr. C. A. Armstrong) against Ethel Mac McGill.
