CLEARING THE SITE
Though good progress has been made! in the examination of the competitive/ plans for the new Wellington Central Municipal Library, the adjudicators, \ Messrs. Cecil Wood, F.R.1.8.A off Christchurch, and J. Norrie, the Chief! •City Librarian, have not at present] reached the stage when any announcer 'ment can be made. It is -anticipated; however, that a report on; the matter, will be presented to the City Council! before, it .adjourns for the Christmasi and New Year vacation.
Meanwhile the demolition of the peer sent buildings on the site which the new library will occupy in Mencer •Street .will proceed, as the contract sor that work has been let to Messrs. JNforman and Smith, who will commdnce operations in a few days.
