NOCTURNUS SHOWS FORM

Nocturnus had no recent form to suegest success in the Kaituna Highweight Handicap, at Banks Peninsula last Saturday, but it was an attractive win, as he was in front all the way. He may need a soft track to show his best, but as he is now capable of winning races again he might play a part in the brush hurdles at. the approaching Riccarton carnival. Nocturnus is a six-year-old " black gelding by Night Raid, and he is now held on lease by Mr. G. J. Barton, for whom he is being trained at Riccarton by A. S. Ellis. He did some racing as a three-year-pld, while he was a winner of a novice race at Nelson, but he then disappeared off the scene till he j reappeared to have a couple of starts last season..
