MAORI MORTALITY
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FOXTON, This Day.
Speaking at Foxton last night Mr. J. K. Hornblow, Independent candidate for Manawatu, referred to the mortality among Maoris. In the Manawatu the population was about 2000 and the normal death rate about 25 per thousand. Recently it had risen to an alarming extent. The matter required immediate attention.
